The Math Resource Center serves as an asset to cadets by analyzing and understanding their mathematical needs in academics. One of the primary resources for facilitating this is the Open Math Lab (OML) which allows cadets to seek help in several mathematics courses.

The Miller Academic Center (MAC) provides academic success programs and services that proactively facilitates the successful transition and academic performance of cadets throughout their time at VMI.

The Writing Center offers numerous peer and professional consultants to assist cadets in improving their writing ability at any skill level and in any discipline.

The Office of Disability Services promotes the personal growth and development of all cadets while serving as a resource to encourage awareness and understanding of disability issues in higher education.

Career Services offers resources for helping cadets plan their post-graduate development, in both employment and education. These opportunities ensure successful transition following graduation from VMI.
Retired US Army Brig. Gen. Jeffery G. Smith Jr. is VMI's Dean of Faculty and Superintendent for Academics. The Office of the Dean oversees all departments and divisions of academics and VMI.
